This year’s National Youth Media Competition, organised by The Straits Times and presented by the National Council on Problem Gambling, allows Singapore students to experience what it is like to be a journalist.
Teams will be shortlisted based on their submissions of school publications, online newsletters, radio broadcasts, podcasts or videos. Schools can also send in multiple teams.
Shortlisted teams will take part in a 24-hour challenge which simulates the newsroom experience of journalists. The teams must complete mystery assignments announced on the day of the competition.
These assignments may include attending a press conference, conducting interviews, or producing content for online and social media.
