As the year-end examination season approaches, Singapore schools are preparing for the possibility of haze and the worsening air quality that accompanies it.
Schools have said that they will hold exams in enclosed spaces with air purifiers, to avoid disruptions in the event of abrupt changes to air quality.
Some schools have also conducted preparedness exercises such as haze drills to familiarise pupils and staff with what they need to do if haze levels rise.
In the event of school closure due to hazardous atmospheric conditions, home-based learning will be implemented, which include online assignments.
In the past, a couple of major examination papers such as those from the Singapore-Cambridge GCE had to be rescheduled to due haze conditions.
The Ministry of Education will continue to monitor the haze situation closely.
