Several school teachers in Singapore were presented with a Caring Teacher Award at a presentation ceremony last Thursday.
The biennial award recognizes teachers for their contributions to the holistic development of their students.
Minister for Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport Ng Chee Meng spoke at the award ceremony. He acknowledged the important role teachers play in the community, and that they can make a difference by providing a listening ear or a caring touch.
After the award ceremony, Mr Ng also took the opportunity to launch the National Institute of Education’s new Visitor Learning Centre, which highlights the heritage and history of Singapore’s education experience.
