In the latest Times Higher Education’s global university ranking, Nanyang Technological University has been ranked the world’s third best young university. Over 200 universities worldwide that were founded less than 50 years ago were surveyed.
Switzerland’s Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne maintained its top spot, followed by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The survey uses criteria such as academic research, teaching, journal citations, international diversity of student population, and industry income.
Mr Phil Baty, editor of the Times ranking, said that Nanyang Technological University has a promising future considering it is just 26 years old.
Last year, in a similar ranking by education think-tank Quacquarelli Symonds, NTU was placed first for the third consecutive year.
