Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has been ranked by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) as the world’s best young university for a third straight year.
Quacquarelli Symonds is a London-based provider of specialist higher education and careers information. Global university rankings are compiled by the QS Intelligence Unit in consultation with the QS Global Academic Advisory Board.
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology were ranked second and third respectively.
The ranking exercise is based on six key indicators, including research quality, teaching quality, and reputation among employers.
Universities that did well in this year’s rankings include those that focussed on technological innovation, and creating and maintaining strong STEM-based research programmes.
QS said that the top young universities league table is designed to highlight the potential of newly established universities that do not enjoy the benefit of an established reputation.
