The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing was launched on Tuesday (May 17) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). It is funded by the National Research Foundation.
3D printing is a process in which three-dimensional components are produced in a layer-by-layer fashion.
The 3D Printing Centre will conduct research and develop innovations for manufacturing technologies, and also study and recommend new industry standards for 3D Printing.
At the launch, NTU chief of staff and vice-president of Research Professor Lam Khin Yong also signed research collaboration agreements with ST Engineering, Keppel Offshore & Marine Technology Centre, Sembcorp Design and Construction and Emerson Process Management.
