The National University of Singapore (NUS) has given recognition to nineteen of its alumni for their contributions to their alma mater and to society at large.
At the biennial NUS Alumni Awards held last Thursday, the highest honours were conferred upon Ambassador-at-Large Professor Tommy Koh and internationally-renowned historian Professor Wang Gungwu.
Prof Tommy Koh was presented with the Eminent Alumni Award for his contributions to Singapore’s foreign policy, as well as his patronage of the local arts scene. He had been Singapore’s Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1990.
NUS also lauded ten young alumni aged 40 and below with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award.
