The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) will be expanding its slate of social science courses, and it will also be introducing elements of community and society into all its degree programmes.
This was revealed recently by SUSS president Cheong Hee Kiat during the university’s first convocation session for graduands from the school of graduate studies and the school of human development and social services.
The class of 2017 of SUSS is the first batch to be conferred SUSS degrees after the university changed its name from SIM University this year and became Singapore’s sixth autonomous university.
Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin was the guest of honour at the ceremony. He encouraged graduands to contribute to Singapore’s society in both personal and professional capacities.
This year, SUSS has pioneer graduates from eleven freshly introduced courses such as applied linguistics, urban transportation and music education.
