SINGAPORE – The Education Ministry will set aside $10 million to fund research on innovative teaching and learning methods at the tertiary levels, Education Minister Heng Swee Keat announced on Thursday.
Named the Tertiary Education Research Fund, it will be available to researchers at the universities, polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) on a competitive basis, said Mr Heng.
Mr Heng hoped the new fund would encourage more research in higher education teaching and learning at the polys, universities, and the ITE.
More details on the fund, such as how it selects projects, will be announced at a later date.
