The National Education and heritage learning gallery of the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central re-opened recently under the new name NE Hub.
As part of the gallery’s new features, visitors will get to pose questions to a virtual personal assistant (PA), a modified version of Alexa. Developed by Amazon.com, Alexa is a voice-activated software designed on artificial intelligence, and mimics the functions of Apple’s SIRI.
Visitors talk through a small speaker-cum-microphone and the ITE version of Alexa looks online for an answer before providing a response.
With the re-opening of ITE College Central’s NE hub, the college has become the first institute of higher learning to offer all of National Heritage Board’s signature heritage education programmes.
