Singapore needs skilled manpower to harness the potential of intellectual property and assist businesses in bringing innovation and services to the marketplace, thus strengthening their competitive edge and helping them achieve greater market share.
In response to rising industry demand, the School of Business at SIM University (UniSIM) has launched a new Master’s course in Intellectual Property and Innovation Management (MIPIM). The focus of the course will be on three principal areas: patent agency, IP management and IP technology.
The MIPIM programme is accredited under the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore’s (IPOS) IP Competency Framework (IPCF). It will be taught by industry leaders, practitioners, international experts, according to Dr Eric Gan, the programme’s senior lecturer.
Graduates from the IP management and IP technology tracks will be eligible for professional certification as a Practising Management Consultant in IP Management (PMC-IPM) under the Singapore PMC Certification (SPMCC) or as an IP Technology Consultant (IPTC) with The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), respectively.
