The Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) launched a new Masters of Science in Security by Design (MSSD) programme in November last year, in order to meet the need for specialists who are trained to analyze and guard against cyber-attacks.
In an increasingly technological society, systems and services are more acutely exposed to cyber threats such as hacking and identity theft, and the frequency and severity of sophisticated cyber-attacks has risen rapidly both in Singapore and around the world.
In cyber security terms, “Security by Design” assumes that a system will continually operate in an environment where malicious attacks are a constant factor. Therefore, appropriate policies and methodologies are embedded into the product or service before it becomes operational.
Working professionals who wish to upgrade themselves will be able to complete the MSSD course on a one-year full-time basis, or two-year part-time basis.
