SIM University (UniSIM) will be adding two new full-time degree programmes in 2017, namely, a four-year direct honours course in business analytics, as well as a degree course in early childhood education.
The Economic Development Board has forecasted that analytics is a growth sector that will contribute an estimated $1 billion to the economy next year.
There will also be a need for an additional 2,500 analytics professionals in the next five years.
The business analytics course will equip students with knowledge in management, accounting, marketing and operations, as well as provide further training in data analytics techniques such as data mining.
Students will also spend up to 24 weeks in work attachments.
