Nanyang Technological University (NTU) recently held its annual alumni award ceremony. The ceremony honours NTU’s alumni for their outstanding achievements and contributions to society.
The Nanyang Alumni Awards were launched in 2005 and nominations are accepted for four award categories – the Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award, the Nanyang Alumni Achievement Award, the Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award and the Nanyang Alumni Service Award.
One of this year’s 36 award recipients was Mr Alphonsus Chern who was recognised for his accomplishments in photography. He is currently an executive photojournalist at The Straits Times.
Other outstanding NTU alumni recognised for their work include Indonesian police chief Tito Karnavian, who has been leading his country’s fight against terrorism, and xinyao pioneer Liang Wern Fook, who has written songs for stars such as Jacky Cheung and Stefanie Sun.
